My 'Funky Christmas' mixes first came about in 2004 when I had a weekly mini-mix slot on BBC 6 Music, and was asked to pull together some seasonal soul, funk and jazz tracks throughout December. We did the same thing in 2005, and I started to include songs that, whilst not strictly Christmas songs, always seemed appropriate at this time of year, eventually bringing all these together into one longer mix as Dr Rubberfunk's Funky Christmas Volume 1 - available as a bonus track here : drrubberfunk.bandcamp.com/album/funky-christmas-ep

The fourth in the Funky Christmas series dropped in 2012, with a wide array of classic and contemporary festive beats, including some from the Olympic Cyclone Band 'Season's Greetings' album I co-produced that year too - olympiccycloneband.bandcamp.com/album/seasons-greetings

The Allergies are one of my favorite music artists, hands down! This inspired funky as can be music is so addictive, be warned. It ranges from funky soul, Northern Soul stylings, 60's styled Motown or Spector, Conscious Hip-Hop, Latin, Gospel, 70's Soul; my favorite is more like my favorite tracks, (plural): Every Trick in the Book & Get Yourself some, not a dud track.
