Trouble Woman (feat. Roachford)

by Dr Rubberfunk

/
  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Remix EP featuring the vocals of Brit soul legend Andrew Roachford, and featuring the horns of Breakestra & Quantic sidesman Todd Simon. Remixes come from party rocking favourite Featurecast and New York City cut-n-paste royalty Steinski. Original mix EQ'd differently to the Hot Stone vinyl version, and cut louder for the 12", which comes complete with run-out groove in-joke etchings!

about

Listening to tunes and album ideas in the Rubberfunk record library during a summer afternoon tea & biscuits break, led to one of those ‘wouldn’t it be great if…’ type conversations; ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could get Roachford on vocals’. A few quick emails later and ‘Trouble Woman’ was born.

Andrew Roachford has been on the UK music scene for over two decades - his work from the 80’s and 90’s made him Columbia's biggest selling UK act for ten years with a seven album recording deal.
Digging the early demos sent through from Rubberfunk HQ, and in between writing for Joe Cocker’s new album project, Andrew cooked up the beautifully simple melody and catchy hook of ‘Trouble Woman’.
